Development of Artificial Photosynthetic Devices for Sustainable Development

We are facing an immense risk of increasingly disruptive environmental damage, driven by the sustained rise in global temperatures due to greenhouse gas emissions. We have seen disastrous impacts from climate change and global warming. Rising ocean temperatures are leading to more frequent and intense rainfall, flooding, and powerful storms. Conversely, warmer and drier conditions are fueling droughts and wildfires on a global scale, as evidenced by recent catastrophic events all over the world. Melting of ice in both Northern areas and the polar regions further threaten biodiversity and human security. It is imperative that we accelerate our efforts to solve these global warming-related issues. To this end, developing artificial photosynthesis – a technology that offers innovative renewable energy systems to support human life – is crucial.
